The Welcome Haven Projet is a community-based, participatory research project that brings regular psychosocial workshops to refugee claimant families in their communities in Montréal. We offer free workshops for refugee claimant kids and parents and study the process of implementing the workshops and aim to include refugee claimants as partners in the research and workshop. Our goal is to support refugee claimant families’ wellbeing and mental health by providing practical tools, breaking social isolation and facilitating access to health and social services, and empowering participants through peer-to-peer support.
